Must read

Imphal, Feb 15: Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh on Thursday said that anyone who have entered the State post 1961 will be deported back, irrespective of their caste or community. He said that the process to identify such individuals will be initiated and the government will deport them.

Biren has repeatedly linked the ongoing ethnic strife to “uncontrolled illegal immigration” from Myanmar.

He justified the decision of the government as a measure to end the ethnic strife and end the ongoing violence.

He further stressed that there would be no division of Manipur.

Singh made the statement reacting to a peaceful protest in Imphal, wherein the protestors demanded deportation of illegal immigrants from Myanmar.
