Tura, Dec 11: Three days after all the criminals of a kidnappers gang were arrested by police, recovery of two weapons has been made from a reserve forest in Tikrikilla.

“In continuation of the investigation of Abduction case of Tikrikilla police station, a team lead by Sub Divisional Police Officer of Raksamgre and Officer in Charge of Tikrikilla police station seized the weapons on being led by two arrested men, criminal gang members Maruti N Marak (20 yrs) and Bilbit N Sangma, (28 yrs),” announced West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police Dr. MGR Kumar.

The two weapons, highly antique single barrel shotguns had been kept hidden inside the Jurimana Reserve forest near Kongkerapara village.

As per police sources, the gang had used these weapons to intimidate and kidnap a fish seller from Bholarbita village on Saturday.

They demanded Rs 15 lakh as ransom for his release but quick action by West Garo Hills police led to his safe rescue. Soon after, all the criminal gang members were picked up by police from different villages in the area including one from Rongsai. They are currently in judicial custody in jail awaiting trial.
