Itanagar, April 3: Security forces nabbed the jail escaped militant on Monday from Bogapani area in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The militant has been identified as Rocksen Homchha of the Niki Sumi faction of the NSCN-K.
Homchha with another militant had escaped from the Khonsa jail of Arunachal Pradesh’s Khonsa jail.
One AK-47 rifle was also recovered from the possession of Homccha.
“After getting information of Tirap DC Hento Karga, a joint operation was launched under Tirap SP Kardak Riba with the help of CRPF, IRBn and Arunachal Pradesh police’s special task force (STF) to nab the militant and on Monday early morning the militant was arrested,” said a top police official of Arunachal Pradesh.
On March 27, two NSCN-K militants – Rocksen Homchha and Tipu Kitnya escaped from Khonsa jail in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh killing a police constable and critically injuring another security personal.
The other NSCN-K militant – Tipu Kitnya, who escaped along with Rocksen Homchha from Khonsa jail in Arunachal Pradesh, is still absconding.
“We have started a massive manhunt to nab the other militant who fled along with Rocksen Homchha. We have already alerted the police, Army about the incident and security has been beefed up in bordering areas. We will soon nab him,” said a police official.
This was not the first jail break incident in Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier too criminals have escaped from Arunachal Pradesh’s jails.
