SHILLONG, JUN 30: Booth Level Officers have started distributing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms door to door across North Garo Hills as part of the 2026 update of Meghalaya’s electoral roll, aiming to cover every eligible voter in the district.
During visits to households in Mendipathar, Salpara and Dekachang, BLOs checked family details, handed out SIR forms, and briefed residents on the revision exercise.
Officials said the BLOs explained the objective of the Special Intensive Revision and stressed why voters must verify their details and submit claims or objections if required so that no eligible citizen is left out.

Authorities have set October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date for the SIR. The Draft Electoral Roll will come out on August 5, 2026, and the Final Electoral Roll will be published on October 7, 2026.
The district administration has urged all eligible voters to extend cooperation to BLOs during the door-to-door verification and to make sure their electoral particulars are correct and updated.
