Shillong, Nov 19: The Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, has unveiled the first set of performers for the Me’gong Festival 2025, announcing Bollywood powerhouses Neeti Mohan and Kanika Kapoor as headliners. Scheduled for December 5 and 6 in the Garo Hills, this year’s edition promises an even more vibrant and expansive celebration of culture, music and community.
Neeti Mohan will take the stage on December 5, delivering some of her most-loved hits, including Ishq Wala Love, Jiya Re, Nainowale Ne, and Kheech Meri Photo. Tourism officials confirmed that an international act for the opening night will be announced shortly.
The festival’s second day will feature Kanika Kapoor, the voice behind blockbuster tracks such as Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Lovely, and Jugni Ji. A second international performer for December 6 will be revealed in the coming days.
Now regarded as one of Meghalaya’s signature cultural showcases, the Me’gong Festival highlights the rich heritage of the Garo community through live music, indigenous crafts, traditional cuisine and immersive cultural experiences. The 2025 edition is expected to draw thousands of visitors from across the country, providing a significant boost to local artisans, entrepreneurs and the broader tourism economy of the Garo Hills.
