Shillong, April 29: The BSF Meghalaya troops on April 28 seized 125 kg of human hair meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh from the international border of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
Smuggled human hair is being used in Bangladesh to make wigs for domestic use as well as for exporting purposes. Since January 2022, BSF Meghalaya has seized over 225 kg of human hair.
Moreover, BSF Meghalaya rescued 73 cattle from the international border of East Jaintia Hills while being carried close to the international boundary by a group of miscreants to further smuggle them to Bangladesh.
Within the month of April 2022, a total number of 450 cattle was seized by BSF Meghalaya. Owing to the increase in smuggling attempts, BSF has enhanced alertness on the international border to strengthen national security as well as to prevent all kinds of trans-border crimes and illegal activities.
