Meghalaya approaches UGC to set up CUET centres in all districts of state

Must read

Tura, April 29: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday informed that the Govt of Meghalaya has approached the University Grants Commission (UGC) for establishment of Central University Entrance Test (CUET) centres across the 12 districts of the State.

While a response is awaited from the UGC, the chief minister advised the students not to wait and instead to go ahead filling up the necessary forms for the entrance test as early as possible since the last date is May 6th.

He agreed that the decision of the UGC has come suddenly and students are not prepared which is why the State Govt has requested if the entrance test can be exempted for students of Meghalaya for this year.

With no response so far from UGC, Conrad K Sangma has also informed that his government had urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducts the CUET exams to extend the date for Meghalaya.

At the same time, the chief minister advised the students not to wait but go ahead and fill the forms for the entrance test since all colleges are affiliated to the central university NEHU and students need to seriously take the CUET exam seriously and appear for the same.
