It is a significant achievement by the alert and vigilant troops of 45 BN and 49 BN BSF, given the challenging task of controlling cattle smuggling in the river channel of the Brahmaputra, where the whole area is riverine and unfenced, covered by high growth of wild elephant grass. Cattle smugglers are desperate to exploit these conditions, which favor them for cattle smuggling to some extent.

However, the BSF troops deployed on char lands remain equally alert and vigilant 24×7 to thwart any ill attempts and nefarious designs of the cattle smugglers and anti-national elements.
