CM Connect represents the Government’s commitment to responsive and transparent governance: CM Sangma

Shillong, Nov 10: As part of the government’s citizen-centric initiative aimed at fostering direct interaction between the government and the public, chief minister Conrad K. Sangma on Monday held a block-level CM connect programme at Amlarem Civil Sub-division in West Jaintia Hills district.

The CM Connect initiative serves as a platform for citizens to raise grievances, seek information and engage directly with officials for time-bound solutions.

Sangma directed immediate departmental follow-up, including the posting of a Medical Officer at Padu Dispensary, review of JJM schemes for source adequacy and power connection for all Anganwadi Centres.

Addressing the gathering, Conrad K. Sangma said that CM Connect represents the Government’s commitment to responsive and transparent governance by listening to people’s issues first-hand and taking swift administrative action.

He also announced ₹10 lakh from the CM-SDF for the construction of a Cluster Level Federation building for women’s Self-Help Groups in Amlarem, emphasizing the importance of supporting grassroots entrepreneurship.

Sangma highlighted that CM Connect Centres will be established in all 56 blocks of Meghalaya as physical one-stop hubs for grievance redressal and access to government schemes, while citizens can also reach the government through the toll-free numbers 1971 / 1800-3456-851, WhatsApp 94363 94363, and email [email protected].

During the community interaction, the Chief Minister, along with Lahkmen Rymbui, Minister of Education, Sosthenes Sohtun, Minister of C&RD, Sibhi C. Sadhu, Director of C&RD, Abhinav Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner and Kum. Anendya Raajsshre, SDO (Civil), Amlarem, interacted with the public on a wide range of issues.

The programme also coincided with the inauguration of the year long Golden Jubilee Celebration of Amlarem Sub-Division and witnessed participation from departmental heads, community leaders and residents from various villages.
