Imphal, Sept 11: National President of National People’s Party (NPP) and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday arrived at Imphal for a two-day visit to discuss matters relating to the upcoming election in the State.
Manipur will have its Legislative Assembly elections in 2022.
The NPP president will be holdings numerous meetings with leaders of NPP Manipur and take stock of the party’s overall preparedness for the upcoming polls.
After a meeting with the party leaders, he told the media that NPP will contest in majority of the constituencies, and will not have any pre-poll alliance with any political parties.
Manipur has 60 Legislative constituencies. It’s last elelctions were held in 2017, which paved way for the BJP to form the government by forming a coalition with National People’s Party, Naga People’s Front and the Lok Janshakti Party.
