Tura, Oct 19 : One businessman who buys and sells cows from villages suffered cuts and other serious injuries when suspected dacoits attacked him during a journey to procure the bovine from Damal Asim village of Dadenggre, West Garo Hills. The attack took place on Monday.

According to police the victim, Shahazamal Sk of Bholarbita village under Phulbari police station went to Damal Asim area to purchase the cows when unknown miscreants attacked him at a place near Rongmasugre with knives and daos.

He managed to survive the attack after villagers spotted him and rushed him to hospital in Dadenggre for treatment. His money is also said to have been robbed by the attackers.

“A case has been registered and investigation is going on,” said SP V S Rathore but so far no eye witness has come forward and no arrest has been made.
