Dibrugarh, Sept 28: The Theatrepara Malipatty Durga Puja Samity, one of the most popular pujas in Dibrugarh, has chosen “Operation Sindoor” as its theme for this year’s celebrations.

The pandal will showcase light-and-sound effects along with live performances, recreating scenes inspired by the theme. Known as one of the major crowd-pullers in Dibrugarh town, the puja draws massive gatherings during the three-day festival. Established in 1980 by a group of dedicated local businessmen, the puja has since grown into a cultural landmark.

“This year our theme is ‘Operation Sindoor,’ and we dedicate it to the Indian Armed Forces. We are expecting a huge turnout, and all necessary arrangements for crowd management have been made,” said Aman Chirani, an active member of the puja committee.

He added, “We are using only eco-friendly materials in our pandal. No harmful items have been used, as we are committed to protecting nature.”
