Shillong, Dec 10: Dippu Sangma has been named the captain of the Meghalaya cricket team for the 2025–26 season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Meghalaya Cricket Association has also released the list of 15 players, along with standbys, selected to represent the state in the premier one-day competition for senior men.
Meghalaya will compete in the Plate Group, which also features Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar and Mizoram. The team will open its campaign against Mizoram on 24 December. All Plate Group matches are scheduled to be held in Ranchi.
Ram Gurung has been named as vice-captain.
A preparatory camp will run from 12 to 20 December in Jagiroad, Assam. Players and support staff based in Shillong are required to report at Polo Ground on 11 December at 1:30 pm for departure to Jagiroad. Those from Garo Hills must assemble at Guwahati ISBT on the same day at 2:00 pm, from where they will proceed to the camp. The squad will leave for Ranchi from Jagiroad on 21 December.
