Earthquake of magnitude 3.3 hits SW of Nongpoh in Meghalaya, tremors felt in Shillong

Shillong, Aug 9: An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 occurred at the depth of five km in SW of Nongpoh in Meghalaya on Wednesday, said National Centre for Seismology.

Tremors were also felt in Shillong and other parts of the state.

According to reports, the tremors were felt at around 1:12-1:13 pm.

Some residents took to X (earlier known as Twitter) to share their experience.

Also, Earthquake of Magnitude 4.0 occurred on Wednesday in Manipur.

Earlier on July 16, an earthquake of a magnitude of 4.2 struck Assam.
