Shillong, July 28: The district administration of East Khasi Hills has issued an order prohibiting the spillage of mud and stones on roads across Shillong city and the entire district.
The order issued by the District Magistrate Rosetta Mary Kurbah aims to prevent accidents and ensure road safety, particularly during the monsoon season.
The order prohibits the spillage of mud and stones on roads, citing the danger it poses to pedestrians and vehicles.
All trucks are directed to cover loaded materials with tarpaulin to avoid spillage and spray wheels to remove mud while exiting work sites.
The order also warned any violation of the order will attract penal provisions under Section 223 of the BNS and other relevant sections.
The order has come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.
