Guwahati, Jan 31: In a shocking and mysterious incident, the bodies of four youths from Assam were found inside a locked rented room in the Mutsandra area of Bengaluru Rural district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Jayanta Sinte Khageswar, Narendranath Taid, Doctor Taid and Dhananjay Taid. All four were reportedly employed at a Coca-Cola warehouse in the locality and were living in a labour shed near their workplace.
According to preliminary investigations, the workers had cooked food inside the shed late at night and went to sleep after closing all doors and windows. Investigators suspect that the deaths may have occurred due to suffocation while they were asleep.
The incident came to light early in the morning when the workers failed to respond to repeated calls, prompting others to alert the authorities.
“The exact circumstances leading to the deaths are still unclear, and further investigation is underway,” a police official said.
A case has been registered at the Sulibele police station.
Meanwhile, the families of the deceased have alleged that the youths were deliberately murdered, further deepening the mystery surrounding the incident.
