SHILLONG, NOV 24: The United Democratic Party (UDP) is evaluating its strategy for the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections, with party chief Metbah Lyngdoh announcing a special committee to assess contest feasibility.
“We’ve formed a committee led by leaders from Garo Hills to assess the situation on whether it is feasible for the party to contest the upcoming elections,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Monday.

Asked, Lyngdoh ruled out pre-poll alliances with MDA partners.
“If we are to enter the fray, we prefer to go solo,” he said.
According to him, the party would wait for the report from the special committee before taking a call on the matter.
