Williamnagar, May 31: In light of the excessive heavy to heavy rainfall in some isolated places in East Garo Hills, Williamnagar causing the rise of water level in Simsang river and Dama stream, the district administration has deputed Additional Deputy Commissioner & CEO Williamnagar Municipal Board, Aloysius Marak as the Incident Commander to monitor the situation in coordination with District Disaster Management Authority.

The District Administration has also identified Green Yard Higher Secondary School and Williamnagar Town Lower Primary School as shelter places and relief camp.

In view of the Covid-19 scenario, the relief camps have been directed to follow Covid-19 protocol strictly.

The District administration has also advised all the residents of East Garo Hills to stay away from streams and rivers and to call Control Room No. 6009076318 in case of emergency.
