SHILLONG, FEB 27: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong addressed Home Guard salary concerns, saying the government has decided to transfer salary heads to Civil Defense and Home Guard.
Replying to a cut motion, Tynsong said, “We have decided in a meeting held last year that from now onwards the salary head has to be transferred to Civil Defense and Home Guard. Starting from this last financial head, we will not have issues on the salary of the Home Guard.”
On fire tenders, he said, “Yes, we have old fire tender vehicles. We are trying our best to replace them in phases… not only vehicles but there is a lot of equipment that needs to be updated.”
Tynsong assured annual replacements and upgrades.
