Shillong, Oct 5: Social Welfare Minister and UDP MLA Kyrmen Shylla has stated that he only fears losing the election and does not fear death.
“Dying one day, I’m going to die be it in their hands or through God’s will. The fear of losing election is my only fear,” stated Shylla.
He added that if HNLC feels it is right for them to threaten political leaders then he has nothing to say against them.
“But I feel it is not right and whatever issues they have against the government, they should come forward and hold a discussion. But threatening and taking lives of public, and yesterday if there would have been a blast it would have not only taken the lives of politicians but also public lives would have been lost,” stated Shylla.
It may be mentioned that the proscribed outfit on Monday issued a statement alleging that there was political conspiracy in the killing of Cherishterfield Thangkhiew, a former leader of the militant outfit. The outfit also threatened that they would kill all the ministers and not show them any mercy, especially targeting ruling NPP members.
