Tura, Nov 18: As part of the “Learning Outside the Classroom” initiative, the ICFAI University Meghalaya, Tura successfully hosted its Campus Carnival 2025 on Tuesday.
The program featured a range of engaging activities—such as a Pre-Christmas Celebration with carols, live music, gift exchange, bonfire, exciting games, food stalls, the ICFAI Talent Arena, and a creative Masquerade Mask competition—designed to nurture creativity, teamwork, and community spirit among students.
The chief guest for the occasion was Subir M. Marak, MLA of Rangsakona Constituency and Chairperson of the Meghalaya Khadi & Village Industries Board.
Marak commended the University for organizing such initiatives, emphasizing how learning outside the classroom promotes practical skills, personal growth, and leadership among students.
He highlighted the relevance of these experiences in preparing students to tackle real-world challenges and contribute positively to society.
During the inaugural program, the Director and campus officials brought to the chief guest’s attention the need to improve the badminton area.
In response, the MLA announced in his speech that he would contribute â‚ą3 lakhs to ICFAI for the construction of two pucca badminton courts on the campus premises.
The Director also mentioned that the MLA’s name would be engraved on the plaque in recognition of his contribution.
In the Inaugural program the Director and Campus had had brought the chief guest attention that the Badminton area if possible could be taken care of by the MLA of the constituency in which in his speech the MLA told the gathering that he would give 3 lakhs to ICFAI to make a pucca two badminton court on th premises.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation, lively performances, and recognition of outstanding talent, marking the day as a memorable chapter in the university’s journey of fostering “learning beyond the classroom.”
