Tura, Sept 8: NPP MDC Albinush Marak was elected as Deputy Chairman of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council’s (GHADC) on the final day of the Council’s Budget Session on Wednesday.
Marak is the NPP MDC from Siju.
The current Executive Council of GHADC is ruled by NPP-led alliance.
In the 29 member House, Marak secured 15 votes, while opposition candidate Rinaldo K Sangma secured 12 votes, 1 invalid vote.
Mentionably, there was a massive build up to the show down for the election to the post of Dy Chairman of the Council.
