Baghmara, Dec 3: Along with the rest of the World, Baghmara also observed International Day of persons with Disabilities here at Rangku Memorial Girls Secondary School premises Baghmara on Wednesday.
The program saw huge participation with over 120 persons with disabilities taking part in various program organised to mark the day.
The Assistant Commissioner S Kharchandey in her address expressed her appreciation towards the social welfare department for their determination and resilience in their service towards the PWD’s.
She further stated that our district will move forward only if this weaker sections of the society moves forward with us.
Others who spoke on the occasion includes Amos Cheang A Sangma Legal Aid Defense Councel, Dr Vaishali Hajong Nodal Officer DM& HO and S.S Koch District Social Welfare Officer Baghmara.
As part of the program, Sports were also organised for the PWD’s and distribution of blankets and other items are also being done for the PWD’s during the day long program.
