Jowai, Sept 20: The Jaiñtia Youth Federation (JYF), Saipung Circle, on Monday met the District Sericulture and Weaving Officer, West Jaiñtia Hills at the latter’s Office in Jowai to demand the smooth functioning of the Eri Concentration Centre at Saipung Village in East Jaiñtia Hills.

The Federation stated that the the Centre has not been functioning even though it was established years ago.It also stated that many people from Saipung area have availed Sericulture schemes but the non-functioning of the Centre has hindered the implementation of the schemes and, as a result, affected the people.

The Federation has also demanded for appointment of a  Chowkidar and a basic staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the Centre in the interest of the public.
