Kolkata, January 15: Madhumitha Guha Majumder, a dedicated former teacher, passed away today, Thursday, at her Kolkata residence following a prolonged illness.
Born in Shillong, she leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and compassion. A graduate of St. Mary’s College, she also holds a BEd from Post Graduate Training College. Madhumitha began her teaching career at St. John’s School, Laban, Shillong. Her commitment to education and her students will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her family, including brother Rajib Chowdhury, a senior journalist in Shillong. Her husband, Rajan Guha Majumder, passed away recently on October 30, 2025. The funeral will be held this evening in Kolkata.
