Tura, Feb 2: On February morning at around 5 AM, one mentally unsound man identified as Batcheng Sangma attacked his brother in law and his own mother with a dao at Raksamgre Jamdamgre village grievously injuring both.

Good Samaritans from the village managed to move both injured to Tikrikilla Primary Health Centre for treatment, but the brother-in-law who had lost a lot of blood from the grievious injuries died while being taken to hospital.

According to West Garo Hills SP Dr. MGR Kumar, The SDPO of Raksamgre along with Tikrikilla police visited the place of occurrence and seized two daos, blood soil sample, blood stained blanket, pillow and shawl. The accused person was also apprehended and is now admitted in the psychiatric ward of Tura civil hospital for evaluation on court orders.
