Man, woman from SWKH found hanging in Shillong shed, probe on

SHILLONG, JUNE 14: The two individuals found dead in a shed at Lumsohphoh along Shillong-Jowai Road Sunday morning have been identified as Pronome Hajong (22) from Balat, South West Khasi Hills, and Semanto Hajong (21) from Ranikor, South West Khasi Hills.

East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said police received information at about 7an that a man and a woman were found hanging inside a roadside shed at Nongthymmai’s Lumsohphoh area.

Both bodies were later shifted to NEIGRIHMS for post-mortem examination.

According to Syiem, the inquest points toward suicide, but the final cause of death will be confirmed by the post-mortem report.

An unnatural death case has been registered at Laitumkhrah Police Station.
