Shillong, Nov 14: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Friday approved a proposal for the re‑appointment of Justice Shivaji Pande as President of the Meghalaya State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (MSCDRC).
Addressing media persons after the meeting, Cabinet Minister Wailadmiki Shylla said Justice Pande’s current term expires on 6 December 2025, and as per existing regulations, he is eligible for a further four‑year term, subject to the age ceiling of 67 years.

Additionally, the cabinet has endorsed the names of four members for the commission. They include Major Unsambyntalang Nongsiej, Rupa Paul Chaudhuri, Nelisa F Kharshiing and Bijoy A Sangma.
The minister also informed that the cabinet has approved the service rules for the *Meghalaya State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (MSCDRC), enabling the commission to set up its own recruitment board for staff appointments.
