Shillong, June 5: H.M. Shangpliang, Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, retired IAS officer and former MLA, called on citizens to drive Sustainable Development Goals through collective initiative.

Speaking at the 14th Anniversary celebration of Hid Foundation Shillong at the State Convention Centre, he urged the gathering to act with a human heart to bring positive impact in society.

Citing Hid Foundation Shillong as an example, Shangpliang said the Foundation has been working with full dedication and its impact is clearly visible today. He appreciated its commendable contributions, including documentary video films on various projects supporting farmers in agriculture and horticulture, and initiatives to uplift young talent in sports and empower youth for positive change.

“Though Hid Foundation is a small social charitable group with limited support, they have shown that if you work with commitment and hard work, no problem will sustain when you have a good human heart,” he said.

Therefore, I call upon everybody to be an example for a better tomorrow of our society, H.M. Shangpliang added.
