SHILLONG, DEC 4: One Batista Paslein was sentenced to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment for committing an offense against a minor.

In her judgment, B Khriam, Special Judge (POCSO) Court in East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat has convicted and sentenced Paslein to 15 years rigorous imprisonment for the offence punishable under Section 4(1) of the POCSO Act along with fine of Rs 50,000.

The case was registered at Khliehriat Women Police Station in East Jaintia Hills district under IPC Section 376(1) and POCSO Act Sections 3/4.

The investigation, led by WPSI O Tyngkan, resulted in a charge sheet (CS No. 12/24) dated April 14, 2024, against the accused.
