Shillong, May 4: Meghalaya have named an 18-member squad for the Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2026, to be held in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.
The team will be led by experienced youth coach Jeffrey Warlarpih and has been placed in Group A alongside Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand.
Meghalaya will open their campaign against Bihar on May 9.
The side heads into the tournament looking to build on recent progress, having reached the semifinals last year after a group-stage exit in the previous edition.
The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) accorded a send-off to the team on Monday, with General Secretary Sunesh Syiem, Vice-President Cliff Nongrum and senior members Dipshon L Nongbri and Freddy Kharpran extending their best wishes.
