Meghalaya: Shillong College achieves A+ Grade and CGPA 3.33 in NAAC Accreditation

Shillong, June 28: Shillong College has been given the A+ accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), officials said on Tuesday.

In an email to the Principal of Shillong College, the NAAC said, “Your institution has been accredited with a CGPA of 3.33 points at A+ Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 24-06-2023”.

The outcome of the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) exercise of the institution was processed and approved by the standing committee constituted by the executive committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results, it added.

After receiving NAAC’s A+ accreditation, the College principal Dr E Kharkongor expressed her happiness and gratitude to all the faculty members, supportive staff and students for the feat.

With this latest NAAC ranking, Shillong college was ranked the highest grade among other colleges in Meghalaya assessed by the NAAC till date.

What is NAAC? 

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), is an Indian government organisation which is responsible to assess and accredit Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

NAAC is headquartered in Bangalore. It is an autonomous body funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
