Must read

Shillong, Dec 6: Meghalaya’s fusion band SKUBO with their electrifying performance won the hearts of the audience in the Delhi Fashion Week 2025, organised by Delhi Fashion Club, in association with VOY Media & Events at the YMCA Tourist Hotel, Connaught Place.

The fusion bank from Meghalaya performed under the CM-MGMP(Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project).

During their performance at Delhi Fashion Week 2025, the band created a rare synergy between modern sound and traditional roots, enhancing the presentation of Garo, Khasi, and Jaintia handloom collections supported by Meghalaya Tourism.

Their performance added an emotional and cultural depth to the runway experience.

Bringing a fresh wave of indie/funk rock, alt-pop, and tribal rhythms to the Delhi runway. Their music perfectly aligned with the mission of International Reinvent Northeast—celebrating the identity, beauty, and creativity of the Northeast through contemporary artistic expression.

At Delhi Fashion Week 2025, Skubo not only represented the musical heartbeat of Meghalaya but also strengthened the vision of Delhi Fashion Club and VOY Media & Events —to elevate Northeast culture at national platforms through music, fashion, and creative collaboration.

The 7th Edition of International Reinvent Northeast once again proved that the region’s beauty, artistry, and cultural depth deserve a prominent place on India’s creative map.

The name, “Skubo,” signifies wishing, longing, and standing for what you love—an ethos deeply reflected in their music.

Formed in the late 2010s, Skubo has grown into one of Meghalaya’s most promising young collectives.

The band’s distinctive sound is shaped by six dynamic artists: Peter Corda R. Marak (Vocals), known for his soulful and commanding voice; Paulina Ch. Marak (Vocals), whose harmonies elevate the band’s melodic layers; Marshall Saku A. Sangma (Guitars) and Mikrasil M. Sangma (Guitars), whose dual-guitar interplay forms the backbone of Skubo’s fusion style; Ramreithing Kaping (Drums), delivering explosive rhythmic energy; and Richard N. Marak (Bass), anchoring every performance with a deep, steady groove.
