Tura, Aug 5: The search operation for the missing Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Teseng M Sangma, resumed for the third consecutive day on Tuesday.

Teams from the Special Rescue Team (SRT), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), staff from Araimile Police Station, and local residents of the Ganol area continued their coordinated efforts across key search zones, including Pelga Wari, Domesal Wari, and Waa Wari.

While the SRT unit from Tura focused on the downstream stretch at Pelga and Domesal Wari, another SRT team from Damalgre scoured the areas toward Waa Wari.

Search efforts remain challenging due to the difficult terrain and fluctuating water levels in the Ganol River.

In light of the incident, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has issued key safety instructions for the public:

• Always check the weather forecast before venturing out.

• Inform friends or family of your plans and expected return time.

• Avoid deep water, slippery rocks, and swampy areas.

• Wear personal flotation devices and carry safety gear, including a first-aid kit.

• Wear shoes with non-slip soles and check rocks for slipperiness.

• Never fish alone and avoid alcohol while fishing.

• Do not swim in deep water.

Authorities continue to stress the importance of public cooperation and safety awareness as the search operations press on under challenging conditions.
