Most Smart City projects near completion, says Dy CM

Shillong, Aug 20: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday said most of the smart city projects are either completed or underway.

According to Dhar, around 15-17 smart city projects are currently being implemented, with different timelines set for each project.

Dhar mentioned that while there may have been initial problems, the projects are now progressing well.

He expects all projects to be completed within a year, aligning with the government’s goal to finish the Smart City Mission projects by mid-2026.

Dhar informed that the project near the Additional Secretariat is almost completed.

“The government is discussing who will manage parking facilities, with plans to involve Rangbah Shnong in non-municipal areas and municipal officials in municipal areas,” he said.

To a question, Dhar said that the street parking policy is expected to be fully implemented by the end of the year.
