MSL 5: Primrose nets six as Khimusniang hammer Umkaber 11-2; Nongkseh also score big

Shillong, Apr 24: Primrose Lamat delivered a sensational performance in the 5th Meghalaya State League (MSL 5), scoring six goals to power Khimusniang SC to a commanding 11-2 victory over Umkaber SCC in Group A at the SSA Stadium on Friday.

Primrose struck in the 16th, 19th, 24th, 38th, 73rd and 79th minutes, taking his tally to seven goals this season and drawing level in the race for the Golden Boot with Nelson Rymbai of Langsning FC. Khimusniang were already 5-0 up before Umkaber briefly responded through Pynkupbor Kharbteng (51’, penalty) and Aidor Kharshiing (59’). However, Khimusniang quickly regained control, adding six more goals to seal a dominant win.

Support came from Dawanbiangmi Passah (42’), Alwin Dkhar (69’), Ravi Manar (80’) and Meroily Lytan (83’, 85’).

In another Group A encounter, Nongkseh SSCC also registered a convincing 6-2 win over Mawshun SCC. Sheen Sohktung scored a hat-trick (37’, 89’, 90’+4), while Hardy Cliff Nongbri (4’, 20’) and Chanmitre Thma (65’) added to the tally. Mawshun’s goals came from Arkhangel Khongtyngkut (45’+1, 60’).
