Tura, Oct 17: Nokrek Height School imparts “Sex Education” program to class 8-10 students in the campus. A total of 60 students participated. Two separate sessions were held separately for boys and girls.
Speaking to Hub News Anuradha Singh, Educational consultant of Nokrek Height School said that “Lack of knowledge and education in this subject can makes a person vulnerable to make assumptions and become a predator. Such an awareness programme will definitively change the young students into responsible citizens, create a safe environment, and also respect the opposite gender. After the homes it’s the schools that can educate the students about this subject”
She also said, ‘How many know about Childline1098? through these programs students will know about it.’
Sex education is a crucial aspect of these awareness programmes, as it equips students with the necessary knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions about their own bodies and relationships.
By addressing topics such as consent, safe sex practices, and healthy relationships, sex education empowers young individuals to navigate their sexual lives responsibly and respectfully. Additionally, it helps break the stigma surrounding these subjects and promotes open dialogue, fostering a culture of understanding and support among students.
