Tura, Oct 28: The last day of the campaigning for the bye-polls was marred by violence on Wednesday. As per reports, a clash between Congress and National People’s party (NPP) supporters in Garodoubi village under Rajabala constituency left many from both sides injured.
At least 12 people sustained minor injuries after a mob indulged in stone pelting in the area.
Meanwhile, additional security forces are on the spot to take stock of the situation and the police are onto ascertain the cause of sudden clash
Wednesday was the last day for campaigning for the bye-elections to three Assembly seats – Rajabala, Mawphlang and Mawryngkneng, the polling for which will be held on October 30 and the ballots will be counted on November 2.
