PM Modi’s visit helping restore peace in Manipur: Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba

Agartala, Nov 23: Rajya Sabha MP and Manipur’s titular king, Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, has credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Manipur for helping restore peace in the violence-hit state, expressing confidence that normalcy will fully return soon.

Speaking to reporters on November 22 after attending the inauguration of the reconstructed Iputhou Puthiba Devata Bari temple of the Manipuri community at Ujan Abhoynagar in Agartala, Sanajaoba said there has been a visible improvement in the law and order situation in recent weeks. The event was presided over by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

“Now, the situation in Manipur has much improved, especially in the valley. The hills still face some challenges, but with time those areas will also return to normal,” he said.

Responding to queries on the Prime Minister’s intervention, the MP stated, “The visit of the Prime Minister has brought change, and after his visit, peace is slowly returning to the state. Manipur will come to its normalcy.”
