Asanang, Oct 15: The Prime Music Incubation Program organised the Grand Finale in Asanang, on Saturday.
Over eighteen talented artists and musicians from Garo Hills came together to compete after a rigorous six-month-long incubation period.
With a total of 65 participants, forming 18 unique groups and individual artists, the event witnessed a vibrant celebration of original compositions and skills.
The competition started at 11 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m., leaving the audience spellbound with the extraordinary performances.
More than 5,000 music enthusiasts gathered at the venue, creating an electric atmosphere that radiated their shared love for music. 23-year-old Chegim Durama emerged as the winner of the Prime Music Incubation Program. He won a prize package worth 4.5 lakhs, including a music video, an EP album recording, a multi-city tour, and live session recordings.
Snam x Kohobodi was announced as the first runners up, and will receive perks worth 2.5 lakhs, comprising a music video, EP recording, and live sessions. G Hills Finest secured the second runnerup position, earning perks worth 1.5 lakhs, including live sessions and recording opportunities.
Meanwhile, Cherry Mrong, bagged the Best Potential Artist for her performance at the competition.
The grand finale also witnessed enchanting performances by renowned bands like Riprap, NOKPANTE, and Da Suraka.
The event reached new heights with a special performance by Abdon Mech from Nagaland, leaving the audience in awe with his musical showmanship.
A significant moment during the event was the showcase of the Me•gong theme song, which resonated with the public and further solidified the importance of music in the region.
The event was organised by DURAMA ASSOCIATION OF MUSIC & ARTS (DAMA), supported by Prime Meghalaya & Meghalaya Institute of Entrepreneurship (MIE).
