Tura, March 4: The opposition Congress legislator from the Rajabala Constituency Dr. Azad Zaman passed away on Thursday. He was 47. Considered as a “People’s man”, Dr. Zaman died of a cardiac arrest around 2:30 am according to a congress source.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on his social media page has condoled the demise of Dr. Zaman. He wrote: “Shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden demise of the Hon’ble MLA of Rajabala, Meghalaya, Dr. Azad Zaman. Dynamic and young leader of the plain belt of Garo Hills who worked tirelessly for the people. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.”
