Dibrugarh, July 1: Football fever has gripped Upper Assam with the inauguration of the CM FIFA Fan Park at Chowkidingee Field, giving football enthusiasts in Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts a chance to experience the FIFA World Cup together.
Football fans across Upper Assam can now celebrate the world’s biggest football tournament not just from the comfort of their homes, but as part of a vibrant community viewing experience. Officially inaugurated on Tuesday, the CM FIFA Fan Park offers supporters a dedicated venue to enjoy live World Cup action in a festive atmosphere.
The initiative, developed by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), aims to promote sports culture in the state while creating public spaces where communities can come together to celebrate the beautiful game. The fan park was inaugurated by Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan in the presence of ATDC Chairman Rituparna Barua, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Bikram Kairi, and other dignitaries.
The venue features giant LED screens for live telecast of FIFA World Cup matches, allowing fans to cheer for their favourite teams and experience every goal, pass, tackle and dramatic moment alongside fellow football lovers.
The Dibrugarh fan park follows the successful launch of the first CM FIFA Fan Park at Latasil Playground in Guwahati, extending the World Cup celebrations to football fans across Upper Assam.
