SHILLONG, MAY 12: Rangsakona legislator Subir M Marak chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee for implementation of the Chief Minister’s Rural Infrastructure Scheme (CMRIS) on Tuesday at the DRDA Conference Room, DC Office Building, Ampati.
The meeting was convened by the office of the Project Director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), South West Garo Hills, to review implementation and monitoring of infrastructure projects under the scheme in the district.
Officials from various line departments attended the meeting. Those present included the Block Development Officers of Betasing, Zikzak, Rerapara and Purakhasia C&RD Blocks, the Executive Engineers of PWD (Roads), PHE and DRDA, the District Agriculture Officer, the Divisional School Education Officer, and the General Manager of DCIC, South West Garo Hills.

Discussions were held on the identification and prioritization of rural infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, public utilities, educational infrastructure and livelihood opportunities across the district. Emphasis was laid on timely execution, inter-departmental coordination and effective implementation of works under the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills and other officials stressed the importance of ensuring transparency, quality and accountability in the execution of developmental activities undertaken through the CMRIS initiative.
The meeting concluded with directions to the concerned departments to expedite necessary procedures and ensure proper implementation of sanctioned projects for the benefit of rural communities in the district.
