Shillong, 28 Oct: Recycle Bazzar, a Meghalaya-based technology-driven waste management startup, has earned distinction as one of the top 8 high-potential enterprises selected under the North East AI and Digi-SAPNE 2.0 (Startup Acceleration Program for North East).
The achievement positions Recycle Bazaar among the top 2 startups representing Meghalaya in the prestigious cohort.

The recognition was announced during a high-energy Demo Day at AIC-SMUTBI, marking the conclusion of a rigorous six-month program supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
Digi-SAPNE 2.0 aims to strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovation landscape of the North-East region through expert mentorship, access to critical resources, and investment facilitation.
This year, 402 applications were received from all eight North-Eastern states, from which only 12 technology-driven startups were selected.
Collectively, the selected startups delivered Rs 7.98 crores in quarterly revenue and raised Rs 5.25 crores in external investment during the same period.
Throughout the cohort, 28 mentors contributed more than 1,000 hours of engagement, while more than 14 investment agencies, including venture capitalists, angel investors, and family offices, initiated negotiations with the participating startups.

On Demo Day, held on September 19, the 12 startups presented their business models before the AIC-SMUTBI Investment Committee. Following rigorous evaluation, 10 startups were awarded a grant of Rs 10 lakh each. The selected startups from across the Northeast receiving support are as follows:
