Tura, Dec 11: The A’we Festival 2025 came to a end on Wednesday at the Resubelpara Mini Stadium, drawing thousands of visitors who gathered to celebrate the final day filled with cultural displays, competitions and high-energy performances.

The atmosphere remained lively from morning till evening as residents and visitors flocked to witness the festival’s much-awaited concluding events.
The day began with traditional indigenous games, including the men’s Wa.pong Sika and the ever-popular An.ding Oka, both of which drew huge crowds and spirited cheers. Adding to the excitement was the inter-locality Tug of War between teams from Resubelpara and Mendipathar, turning the arena into a lively battleground of strength, teamwork, and local pride.

The Voices of A’we competition also took center stage, giving emerging singers a platform to showcase their talent as part of the festival’s cultural celebration. Participants delivered strong performances that kept the audience engaged throughout.
A key highlight of the final day was the Master Chef North Garo Hills contest, featuring exclusively traditional Garo dishes such as Brenda, Kappa, and O’tepa. A total of eleven participants competed in the culinary challenge, preparing their dishes within the allocated time before presenting them to the judges, who evaluated them based on authenticity, taste, and presentation. The segment attracted huge public interest as the aromas of Garo cuisine filled the venue.

As evening descended, the music concert kicked off with AHOWEE taking the stage, treating the crowd to soulful Garo folk numbers that set the perfect tone for the night. The momentum grew as NORTHWIND delivered an energetic performance that lifted the excitement even higher.
The much-loved band NOKPANTE then ignited the stadium with their popular numbers, prompting the crowd to dance, cheer, and sing along. Their set paved the way for the festival’s biggest highlight—an electrifying performance by the legendary Garo band RIPRAP. Their powerful original numbers had the entire mini stadium pulsating with energy, marking one of the most memorable moments of the event.

The festival concluded on a melodic note with Shillong-based singer Jessica Lyndoh, whose performance provided a warm and graceful end to the A’we Festival 2025, leaving the audience with unforgettable memories of culture, music and community spirit.
