Guwahati, April 6: A road accident took place in Assam’s Mukalmuwa on Saturday. One person died and five were seriously injured in the incident.

The victims were admitted to Mukalamua Sub-Division Civil Hospital and two seriously injured persons were taken to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

As per the eyewitnesses two buses were coming from Barpeta towards Guwahati at high speed and one of them hit a cyclist and the cyclist died on the spot. Apart from this, a roadside shop was also hit by the bus which got damaged.

The deceased was identified as Siddiq Ali and the injured were identified as Ibadul Islam (13), Imran Ali (17), Abdul Salam (18), Jintu Medhi (20).

Further Police investigation into the entire incident is ongoing.
