Shillong, June 2: The R&R Colony Welfare Society on Sunday presented Debasmita Dutta, the captain of the Meghalaya Women’s Cricket team, with the R&R Colony Gaurav Samman Award at a felicitation programme.

The felicitation event was held to give away the Diptimoy Das Academic Excellence Awards, 2025 and R&R Colony Gaurav Samman Award to the students residing in the locality. The event also honoured Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, Member of Parliament from Shillong, who was the chief guest and Kaustuv Paul, Senior Advocate of the Meghalaya High Court, who attended as the Guest of Honor.

Debasmita Dutta is a resident of R&R Colony. The R&R Colony Gaurav Samman Award acknowledged her exceptional performance and contribution to women’s cricket in Meghalaya.

At the same time, a total of 28 deserving students from Class X and XII, across CBSE, ICSE, ISC, and MBOSE boards, received awards from Dr. Ricky and Kaustuv Paul.
