Second phase of inoculation for 18-44 age group begins in Meghalaya

Shillong, June 11: Meghalaya government on Friday began the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination for the 18-44 age group. Long queues were seen on the first day of the drive at various vaccination centres in East Khasi Hills district.

While U Soso Tham Auditorium will administer 150 doses daily, 67 Battalion CRPF Camp at Polo Bazar will administer 120 doses daily. JN Stadium, Polo will administer doses only on Friday and Saturday, 150 doses each day. NEIGRIHMS will be giving 120 jab daily barring Sundays from June 11 to 19. Similarly, Ganesh Das Hospital will give 100 jabs daily except Sunday. Military Hospital and Reid Provincial Chest Hospital will be giving the jabs daily.

As for paid vaccination, Nazareth Hospital (150) Bethany Hospital (150), Supercare hospital (100), Woodland hospital (150), HG Robert Hospital (100) and Hope Clinic (100) have opened their doors for the vaccination drive. The vaccines have been priced at Rs 500 per dose. The vaccination drive, which started at 9:30 am, went on till 5 pm.

The vaccination drive will be on till June 19.

The residents who came for their first jab on Friday had registered on the CoWIN platform on Thursday.
