Dibrugarh, Oct 26: Security forces arrested a ULFA(I) cadre from the Namsai area of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was launched by the Arunachal Pradesh Police and the Assam Rifles, which led to the arrest of the ULFA(I) cadre.

The arrested militant has been identified as Anupam Dohotia alias Thousen Axom, a resident of Barekuri area in Tinsukia district.

Police sources said he was one of the key members involved in the recent ULFA(I) attack on the Kakopathar Army camp in Tinsukia on October 17.

Security forces recovered one MQ rifle, 151 rounds of live ammunition, one bottle grenade, and one rifle grenade from his possession.

It may be mentioned that the arrested rebel was involved in the attack on the Kakopathar COB of the Army, during which three Army personnel were injured. He was also part of the recent gun battle between ULFA(I) and Assam Rifles at 6 Mile Lekang Khampti village in Namsai district, during which one ULFA(I) cadre was killed.
