Shillong, Sep 1 : Cabinet Minister and HSPDP legislator Shakliar Warjri on Monday made it clear that his position in the government rests entirely on his party’s call, stating he would not hesitate to vacate office should the need arise.
Speaking to reporters, Warjri stressed that discussions are still underway within the HSPDP. “That is a party internal matter. We as a party are sitting and discussing and I am an MLA of a party and if my party decided I have to step down I will happily give in there is no question about it but all of these depends on the party’s decision,” he remarked.
When asked if any consensus had been reached, the Minister avoided giving a definitive answer but underscored his willingness to abide by the final word of the party. “This is an internal matter of the party we are still having talks and whatever the outcome will be I will be happy to agree to my party’s decision,” he added.
